You Know You Are the Parent of an Autistic Child When…

...you have cleaned poop off of the kitchen table, television, and walls more times than anyone you know.

...you have stayed up half the night washing the only outfit he will tolerate wearing to school the next day.

...you know all the lines to his favorite movies and begin unconsciously reciting them at the grocery store. (and it doesn't even bother you when people start staring)

...you find yourself on eBay at 2AM bidding on the entire Toy Story collection that he is currently obsessed with. (hey, does OCD run in families?)

...you are no longer embarassed when he makes loud verbal "stim" noises out in public. (heck, as long as he stays dressed you could care less about the noises)

...you are constantly complimented on your saint-like paitence, but you sure don't feel like one.

...you know how Evel Knievel's mom felt as you watch him leap from the counter-tops, kitchen table, or anything else taller than him.

...you find yourself removing the toilet countless times to find out what he got clogged in there this time.

...you find yourself sucking down Darjeeling with Marie Antoinette and her little sister. (oops, there I go again with the Toy Story script)

...you feel like the warden with the house on lock-down to prevent the escape artist from getting out again.

...you wish his hair would stop growing so you wouldn't have to enjoy another visit to the barber.
